Challenges & Solutions
The consolidation of results from more than 50 agencies, based on Excel and email, was very time-consuming and error-prone. Adjusting dynamic formats for report creation alone took several days. The multi-stage planning process was only poorly supported. By connecting all agencies to Oracle Hyperion, with web-based data collection and centralized data storage, the consolidation process was accelerated by about 50%, with improved data quality. Thanks to fully automated preparation, there is no longer any effort required for report creation. The multi-stage planning and coordination processes are now significantly more efficient and transparent, thanks to tool support with workflows.
The tourism group TUI harmonizes financial consolidation with Oracle Hyperion Financial Management.
With more than 76,000 employees and approximately 20 billion euros in revenue, TUI is the largest tourism company in Europe. The publicly traded group includes, among other things, travel agencies, agents, hotels, airlines, cruise ships, and tour operators.
Challenges & Solutions
In Phase I, the companies of the entire sub-group “TUI Travel PLC” were integrated into the new consolidation system to replace the existing consolidation solution. The already existing consolidation application (HFM) of TUI Travel PLC was expanded to meet the requirements of TUI AG. This involved designing changes in the chart of accounts, calculation rules, reporting, interfaces, and underlying processes, and integrating them into the existing environment.
In Phase II, the remaining companies of TUI AG were connected to replace the existing consolidation solutions and to support the entire consolidation process with a single system. The main challenge was to connect all sub-systems to the central consolidation system and create the necessary interfaces for this integration.
In both phases, system users were trained by employees of R.S.V.P. Management Solutions and were supported during the testing and live operations.

Challenges & Solutions
The originally consolidated financial data, derived from Hyperion Enterprise, no longer met the detailed requirements of local controlling and the reporting needs of the parent company. Among other things, a more detailed chart of accounts and a profit and loss statement based on both the German Commercial Code (GKV) and the International Chart of Accounts (UKV) were required and implemented. Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) provided the necessary technical framework to represent the higher level of detail in the new system.
The old Excel-based interface between the local accounting systems and the consolidation system was replaced. Manual data entry and adjustments to Excel files were time-consuming and error-prone. The closing process was only poorly supported by the system. With the help of Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management (FDM), a central, web-based interface was created, which is now used for the quick loading of financial data directly extracted from the accounting systems. This means that local subsidiaries now save time in reporting, as all manual data entry is eliminated.
By connecting all subsidiaries of Leybold Optics to Hyperion Financial Management, the time required for the consolidation process was reduced, while data quality was improved. The multi-stage closing process thus became significantly more efficient and transparent.

Challenges & Solutions
As part of the implementation of the consolidation system Hyperion Financial Management by the parent company RPM Building Solutions, the existing planning system was no longer deemed sufficient for its purposes.
The redevelopment of the planning solution with Hyperion Planning resulted in the adjustment of the planning system to the structures of the new consolidation system and addressed the increased demands for planning details as well as the time issues during the planning process.
The implementation of Hyperion Planning at Tremco Illbruck primarily increased the level of detail in the planning data and reduced the cycle time of a planning process. Additionally, functions were integrated into the system that simplify and support the work of planners with the system.

Challenges & Solutions
